MUSKIE EXPO begins it : Timing right
Jim Polka captured the essence of this weekend as the beginning of the outdoors shows around Chicago when he replied on Facebook, ``Great weekend for it . . . Crappy weather and poor ice conditions.''
So it is prime time wander around inside and check out a show.
I am going to try to post a preview of each show here on Stray Casts as the season progresses and include when and what I will be doing at that show.
The MUSKIE EXPO Chicago starts the season at the Sears Centre Arena in Hoffman Estates, opening at 2 p.m. today.
I plan to be there right around opening, in part because I am helping judge the New Product Showcase again.
I enjoyed my time doing it last year and look forward to it again this year.
If I am lucky, I will run into Chef Todd again and be able to pick his brain about what is important and new at the show.
If my time holds, I will stick around to catch Kurt Schultz on river muskies at 5 p.m.
