Indiana is joining other states in tightening regulations for catfish.


The new regulations will not take effect until a couple more legal steps are finished.

A reminder came this morning that stream trout (harvest) season opens at 6 a.m. Saturday on select waters of Indiana, including several in northwest Indiana.


The reminder came for me with this announcement fron the Indiana DNR on the stocking in lakes of trout.

Under emergency rule, hopefully soon to be permanent, the seasonal fishing closures on Trail Creek and the East Branch of the Little Calumet River, which used to be in place to protect stocked salmon and trout, have been lifted.
